  SCOLIS uses its core competence in the domains of Contactless and Contact Smartcard Technology to provide products and services in the following sectors namely – High performance CL readers and middleware for NFC devices.


High Performance CL Readers  
SCOLIS is focused on providing customer-oriented solutions in the domain of Identification & Authentication using Contactless Smartcard technology. SCOLIS designs high performance contactless readers and also provides design services for integrating these with customer equipment, especially for makers of equipment of passport personalization and reader systems. These could be entirely turnkey solutions or design services and consulting for existing solutions to make them more robust and efficient.
Near Field Communication (NFC)  
Near Field Communication (NFC) is a technology pioneered by NXP, Sony and Nokia to be an ubiquitous proximity RF technology to connect and exchange data between digital devices. NFC devices have three possible configurations in which they could operate – reader mode, card emulation mode and the peer-to-peer mode. SCOLIS strongly believes that NFC will be a major enabler for secure mobile commerce. SCOLIS is working with major technology providers and first movers in this domain to provide the middleware layers on embedded devices like mobile handsets and smart phones and PDAs to help devices makers provide key applications on their devices.

NFC will start getting used in a very many applications including physical access and converting the mobile handset into a unique security credential for an individual. SCOLIS will provide middleware stacks and implementation services for integrating these into embedded devices.

Services  
SCOLIS provides design & support services in the domain of Smartcard technology (both contact and contactless) and Flash media readers in the area of ASIC design, hardware engineering and product design, embedded firmware and drivers.
